Hi

I am trying to print some of the pages of the guide .

Although there is a print option once you have downloaded the guide , it does not enable you to print if you click on the print logo.

Can you please advise if there is a problem with the print option or am I doing something wrong.

Thank you

Bernard

Hello there, I'm not this guide creator. But I can tell you why you can't print it. Copyrights!

bernardwiehe

Thank you for reply BUT why then have a print icon available as an option ???

@Veedushi Good primer on the country.  Would it be possible to have more information about a) tax treatment for countries that don't have bi-lateral tax treaties, b) list of countries that have extradition treaties, and c) intellectual property protection rights?  Those could also be forum items too.

Guest140423

I found an answer to the Intellectual Property protection rights.  It's under development see -> Page 49.

Hello @bernardwiehe

Thank you for your question.

The Guide is actually protected for Copyright reason, so it's totally normal that you faced some issue to print it.

Which part of the Guide are you interested in ?

Hello,

French, I read with interest your guide for expatriates in Mauritius.

Is there a French version?

In the chapter on Taxes for individuals, you talk about employers and employees.

What happens to expatriates who are tax residents under Section 73 of the Income Tax Act (ITA), who are neither employers nor employees and who have no taxable income in Mauritius or in other countries?

Is it necessary to file a tax return in Mauritius?

Sincerely

Bhavna

Hello Quismar,

The french version of the Guide is here : /guides/guide-Ile-Maurice.pdf

And the Francophone Mauritius is here, whereby you can ask your question (in french) to expat members : Forum Ile Maurice

All the best

@Veedushi Thank you for the Mauritius Guide. I really appreciate it. I am an accountant, trying to plan concrete steps to work in Mauritius. Please clarify a few issues for me.

1) It appears as if I can only enter Mauritius and work after I have received a job offer and my employer has secured the Occupation permit for me. Is this an accurate conclusion? Is there any possibility of applying for a Mauritius work visa without securing employment first?

2) Is it acceptable for me to arrive in Mauritius as a tourist, secure a tourist VISA and look then spend my time in Mauritius looking for employment (eg interviews), secure a job and then leave Mauritius for my employer to process my VISA?

3) What is the minimum amount that one may need to stay in Mauritius for two months as a tourist (without a job)

Any additional information on securing an Occupation Permit (such as costs) would be greatly appreciated.
