Hilton,
You need to check with your Embassy, I cant advise on Egyptian / Tunisian visa's.
If you have a Resi permit, you are able to cross from the Egyptian side and drive to Benghazi, no need to go through Tunisia.
It seems things have changed and you now apply directly to the local embassy for a visa and it is issued there - there is however a possibility that the visa issued by the embassy needs to be reissued at the border - the other persons travelling with Tim - 18 of them - are getting their visaÂ’s from here but have been advised to have at least 100 lyd for the border - this it what it cost a friend - official receipts etc are provided once payment and visa is stamped in passport.
Latest Update:
I am advised that Tripoli Airport will be undergoing a full inspection and review tomorrow and that Air Malta are preparing to start operations as soon as:
clearance is given as to the operational capability of the air terminal, runways and air traffic control systems
clearance is obtained from Nato
clearance is obtained from the Maltese government to re start operations
Initially there will be:
2 daily flights to tripoli
1 daily flight to Benghazi.
I will keep you in the picture as more info comes to hand.
