How you dealt with the risk of malaria in Kenya with young children?

cathiewalsh

Hi there,
Sorry to dip into your conversation but I was wondering how you dealt with the risk of malaria in Kenya with young children? We have 4 children 3,6,8 and 9 and am worried about the risks? Any advice much appreciated. Thanks
Cathie

Contact your doctor regarding this. Doxycycline taken daily may be okay for children.
You should also do a Google search for what type of malaria tablets are okay for children. Then contact your doctor when you have the names of a few treatments.

British doctors have had next no exposure to malaria cases so will have no very little knowledge of what is best.

You may get some information off the WHO (world health organisation) website.
