Moving to Abidjan

mooljees

Good afternoon all.

I am moving to Abidjan for a 4 year work contract.  I don't speak any French and I have so many concerns.  Malaria being the top of it.

I would be very grateful for any advice, particularly on purchasing a second-hand car and the ease of driving in Abidjan; areas that I should consider finding apartment in; and products and appliances that I should bring with me.

Thanking you in advance.

Yeah, you can get a second hand car and a house with appliances  but this will cost you much.  I prefer you get an apartment and furnished it to your taste. Whenever you are done with your contract, you can resell your appliance.

Hope this helps

Hello and welcome !

Your colleagues might give you some first-hand tips. It might be more convenient to rent furnished not far from your workplace and then look for better options when you move there.
