I'd advise not to bring bulky things like furniture. Such things you can purchase when you arrive. Transporting furniture may cost a lot of money. Unless it's a piece that you cannot live without, just wait until you arrive. Also there are places that are furnished or partly furnished.

Good quality kitchen utensils, pots, pans, lamps, television, radio, clock, etc. can also be purchased and they aren't hard to find. Basically all home furnishings you can find in Accra and the major cities (Kumasi, Tema, Takoradi, etc.). Unless like I said it's something you certainly don't want to leave behind. Any electronics you bring can be used with an electric converter is the voltage is different from Ghana's voltage (220 volts I believe)

I think you need a little more information about your circumstances and whether your accommodation etc is included in the package when you move to Ghana.
As Rainflower said everything you need is available here in Accra.
It is a relatively expensive place and imported things come at a cost. I would think that living in Nairobi and living in Accra would be similar for a similar lifestyle.

Thanks hkann... am waiting for some clarity on my position / Pkg etc. But how about security? How is life in Accra? is it better than Lagos (as have to choose between two of them and if so which would be better)?

Personally I think Accra is a safe place to live but I have never been to Lagos so can't compare the two
