@Bobby2810143 Wow, I鈥檝e never heard of a scammer being brought to justice in Ghana. I wish I鈥檇 known.聽 I actually married my young scammer and brought him here for 3 years. He admitted using me for immigration purposes, but he flew back to Ghana before any interviews. My heart broke, but I was too poor for him to steal any money.聽 I have another Ghanaian husband, who I鈥檓 joining in Ghana, in the fall. I鈥檓 praying for a happy ending!
Good luck! I hope you have a happy ending but I also hope your eyes are open. Come for yourself and make your own life and don't rely on your husband. Find friends and interests as it can be lonely if you only have your Ghanaian relatives for support. Remember the strain on your husband will be great as his relatives will be putting a lot of pressure on him as an expat wife means money and he will be expected to contribute to everything from school fees to funerals.
I hope everything works out for you.
@hkann. Thank you for this great advice. I do have some goals and dreams for my retirement. I鈥檓 hoping to start a virtual ministry podcast, and become involved in the ministry with my sister in law. As far as the pressure for my money, it鈥檚 been 4 years of long distance pressure, so I don鈥檛 look at it lightly. Blessings back to you!
@hkann
So true I am going through a land and marriage scam to a younger man and it鈥檚 shameful how some of these Africans see us Americans as money and they don鈥檛 have an ounce of love 鉂わ笍 or gratitude towards us, I have learnt my lesson to never trust them again
@ingridjonescarter That鈥檚 horrible. I hope you are ok, and find the love you need.
I understand some of those scammers even i dont agree with scamming itself. We people from the west mostly older go on the Hunt for young lovers in africa while here are enough potential candidates. We only go to africa or arab or asian countries to have a young girl or boy . And we know they are poor so dont care to love old people. I hear the stories from scammers why they do it because they don't get respect or you think a young good looking boy is waiting for a lady from 70 or a young girl for a man that could be her grandfather....i think most whites must look at themself and see how selfish they are in abusing poor people to satisfy themselves. Do i agree with scam no but its a way of surviving against the meathunters many whites are these days.
I鈥檓 really sorry to read all these painful experiences. It鈥檚 unfortunate that scams and dishonesty happen, and I completely understand the heartbreak and disappointment some of you went through. Please know that not everyone in Ghana is like that there are many genuine, hardworking people here who value honesty and respect.
Your caution and advice are very important for others who may be new to Ghana. Being careful, taking time to know people, and not rushing into commitments are truly wise steps. I sincerely hope each of you finds peace, healing, and the happiness you deserve.
Blessings to you all. 馃檹
