About Borg El arab is a developing small town, its mostly industreal, dos'nt have much to do as for fun, lots of locals and a few foreiners working in some factories and thats all, If you need to have any kind of a social life you well need to go to Alexandria wich is 50 km away, I use to have my business in Borg El arab for 7 years and I just moved to Hurghada by the red see, Borg El arab is a good place to invest but you have to know your way around and you have to know what you getting your self in to, try to not trust the locals very much untell you get to know them very well,

Yes its safe in the day and at night, and the locals are friendly towards westerners, but like I said before try not to trust the locals tell you get to know them very well, and when you get to borg El arab let me know and I well give you a friend of mine's phone # she is from England and she live in the area for years and have a farm there.

Is it safe to drive here also?, i have heard a lot of comments about the danger of driving, is this true?

They do have local & international banks , in borg el arab it self they have, HSBC and CIB as an international banks,
In alexandria they have, HSBC, CIB, City bank & Barclays.

Regarding the traffic and drivers, yes its bad, people drive like crazy, not becouse they are bad drivers, its becouse they follow no rules, so they over speed and change lanes like crazy, some tims you feel like your on a race track lol,

The best thing you can do is having your owen driver for some time untill you get the feel of it and how to deal with the traffic.

I think that is the best thing to do is go with a driver for the first while,, tell me one more thing, when is the general election in Egypt?, was the trouble as bad as it was portrayed in Alexandria recently?

Well, They have not set up a date for the general elections yet, but I think it may be in 6 to 8 weeks.

Yes,I well expect that it well be a huge troubles and demonstrations all over the country starting 10 days from now on the scond anniversary of the revolution on Jan 25,

Every body is so fed up with the way things going, but I don't think you well be effected in any way,

What kind of work you are going to do when you come to Egypt?

I am being brought over by a food manufacturing company that is building a new plant in Borg el Arab, i am in Supply Chain/ Logistics so i will be mainly responsible for exportations.
Obviously i have heard so much about the demonstrations and to be honest will be very worried about being there whilst this is ongoing.

If you are in borg elarab in the timing of the demostrations, you well be fine, becouse its far from any trouble,

its a new company i think, its originally Libyan and its now
moving into the Egyptian Market, producing Jams, Milks Cheese's etc, as i said previously,, i am very much looking forward to the experience having never been to Egypt before, i will keep in touch with you because i think i could find your help invaluable

As Ashraf said, Bourg el Arab might not be an ideal place for expatriates.

I would use two words to describe it:

1. Islamic.

2. Industrial.
