Post-revolution employment issues

The Londoner

Hi all,

I've been in contact with a few friends in Egypt who have expressed employment problems; one friend in particular said that the company he works for will be closing down. Has this become a post-revolution trend?

Nope

But there are some exceptions.

But with the increase of strikes its no secret that the economy isn't fairing well at the moment.

I have also spoken with friends in Egypt - Sharm is apparently like a ghost town at the moment with most beach/watersports staff having been sent home as there is no work.  The Naama Bay centre is suffering - all shop owners are in discussions with the centre owner as most of them have not had customers in weeks and are not making the rent - work is scarce in Cairo too, the economy is suffering.

The tourism industry is one of the main backbones of the Egyptian economy, but tourists are unsure about the 'real' safety of Egypt since it's under the army's rule. It's going to take a while for things to pick up again, but is it possible that the reality of the revolution aftermath was underestimated?

I think we all know the situation in Egypt and it is really expected for a while.today is the first day for banks to resume its work. I think economy is going to be better(hopes)but this will be determined by the mid of March

We just need to WORK and WAIT.
I feel people are so excited about the revolution and it will make them do great.
