Profile of Gabriella Da Costa
With six years of dedicated teaching experience, I have cultivated a passion for fostering a holistic and collaborative learning environment. My diverse background includes working in various educational settings, from mainstream schools to smaller boutique institutions that prioritize individualized attention and cater to the unique needs of each learner.
I am committed to encouraging a culture of positivity and friendship within the classroom, as I believe that positive social interactions are crucial for student development. By promoting an atmosphere where students feel safe and supported, I aim to enhance their overall learning experience.
Exploration is a cornerstone of my teaching philosophy. I emphasize the importance of learner experimentation and incidental learning, allowing students to engage with concepts visually, kinetically, and orally. This multi-faceted approach not only enriches their understanding but also ignites their curiosity.
I firmly believe in Vygotsky’s Zone of Proximal Development and the concept of scaffolding. In today’s rapidly evolving world, particularly during the 4th Industrial Revolution, critical thinking skills are essential. My teaching methods are designed to challenge students while providing them with the necessary support to thrive.
As an educator, I pride myself on being resourceful and adaptable. I embrace difficult challenges with enthusiasm and perseverance, always striving to find innovative solutions that benefit my students.
In addition to my teaching career, I am an avid writer with several children’s books to my name. My love for poetry and literature extends into my personal interests in anthropology, enriching my perspective as both an educator and a creative individual.
Sincerely,
Gabriella Da Costa
