Are all MLMs scams?

sheridin

Very controversial topic.... I know. But this time, lets make it educational.

I have been involved in the mlm industry (also known as network marketing) since 1997. And its been wonderful seeing so many people get what they want from this simple part-time enterprise. Even $500 extra a month can make a big difference to many families. And those who want more can achieve it too. Yet.... most people shun away from this opportunity just by the mere mention of the word.

Let me help clear some myths that you may have. Ask me anything.  I'll do my best to address your concerns in a professional manner.

Yes, most are since they are designed to make money for only the ones at the top of the pyramid. In many countries pyramid schemes are the subject of many lawsuits and government scrutiny.

The US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) for example warns everyone to stay away from MLMs that offer a commission for recruiting new distributors saying, "They're actually illegal pyramid schemes."

Also when a MLM goes bust (and most do very quickly) everyone loses their money, except of course the people at the very top.
