To any Vietnamese person who can cook. Which fish sauce should I use ?

Phoenixxl

What type of fish sauce should I use to make Nước chấm?
I am making bo la lot and I need to make mixed fish sauce to go with it (the sweet sour kind with chilies and garlic in). Nước chấm ? nước mắm pla ?

I have 3 kinds of fish sauce in the fridge , which do you think is best for making it?

If there are other kinds you think I should use to get a more authentic tasting sauce , feel free to add a picture to the reply. I might be able to get it at one of the local Asian supermarkets.

Thank you for any reply.
Phoenixxl.

"Link under review ..."

Dear moderator,

What is this..

Those are links to one of the most used photo sites available.

Without the pictures this post is totally meaningless.

Anyone browsing the forum checking new posts will glance over it , skip it and it will be marked as read , he will never return to it again to comment or give a reply.

At the very least, moderator, if you want to implement a system like this , put the posts on ice until they are validated then put them on the forum. That way people browsing will only see them when they make sense.

Just leaving images from the moment it gets posted and reviewing them later is the saner option. You can also temporarily hide the whole thread for review if enough reports about it are made.

As it is now , this setup doesn't work.

Friendly regards.

I think most people will ignore it anyway since it's addressed only to Vietnamese people in the open forum.

Phoenixxl

meh , 40 or so people have already read it /shrug.

Tbh the Vietnamese centered part of the forum seemed somewhat empty. I'm sure people interested in cooking will click it anyway. Curious youngsters too apparently.

Regards.

Finally ! the pics are included , people are able to reply.

You can post your topic at the Vietnam forum as well if you like.
Or at the Belgium forum if you are still in Brugge.
Maybe you get more reactions.
