Quiet place but not isolated

IMpo SibLe

Hello, I have a simple question for you.

Please, could you tell me a single country on Earth, a place to live where it is more or less cheap, more or less sunny, more or less quiet , reggaeton music is not predominant and there are no problems with stray dogs on the streets?

I was thinking to move to Mauritius. Then to Maldives. Someone in Maldives? Portugat is much cheaper than Spain?

Thank you.

Nothing simple about the question.

a place to live where it is more or less cheap - in Mauritius you can get cheap or expensive accommodation depending on where you choose to live. It's an island and almost everything is imported... hence is subject to inflation.

more or less sunny - Mauritius qualifies as you have the whole island to choose

more or less quiet - Mauritius qualifies as you have the whole island to choose

reggaeton music is not predominant - Mauritius has sega

and there are no problems with stray dogs on the streets? - there are many stray dogs in Mauritius.

Have you visited the island?  If you spend some time > 2 weeks on the island, you will start to have a good understanding.

Good luck.

Thanks Pablo in fact Mauritius was my new destination but then i found the stray dogs issue over few forums and chats. I know that it sounds a little ridicolous but as a moto rider i ve had a lot of dangerours encounters with stray dogs and it s something that i would rather not to experience again.

Thanks fr your advice. I wil keep it in mind.

@IMpos SibLe, stray dogs are kinda fact of life in most third world countries.  Unless there is an active animal control department like there exists in most developed countries, dogs are often left to their own devices and multiply they will....  If absence of stray dogs is what you are looking for, then I would recommend looking for countries that have a good control over stray pets.

I know that Mauritius has some sort of animal control - but it is not enough to control the whole stray population.

Hello,

Came over this thread and couldn't help sharing my experience.

Been to Mauritius a few times and absolutely love it. The island, the people, the culture, the vibe is different and amazing.

Yes there are many strays, noticed it too. But they are putting in place new measures from what I heard. Perhaps you should spend a month there and see.

Anyway, good luck with your relocation wherever it is.

@IMpos SibLe, I am living part-time in an apartment on the beach on a small island in the North East of Brazil.  It has all the charm of a fishing village on the beach like in Mauritius.  Life is cheap - much much cheaper than in the US - and laid back.  IMHO, things are much cheaper there than in Mauritius.  The island is connected to the mainland by a small road.

Re: stray dogs - yes there are stray dogs but the number of motorcycles exceeds the stray dogs on the road.  I think that in the Nordeste do Brasil, you will be more concerned about the aggressive driving style more than stray dogs.

Good luck.
