Greetings & Bom Dia!

We are opening a new craft cocktail/oyster bar/cafe concert establishment in Santos, Lisbon in just two weeks and are seeking 1-2 full-time Line Chefs. We're located a few minutes from the Time Out Market and near the French Embassy on the super hip and foodie block of Rua da Esperança.

We are a small, friendly family of top-tier established craft bar operators and venue owners from Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Los Angeles, bringing something exciting, fun, and new to the area, geared mostly towards locals, expats, and some visiting tourists. This role offers great exposure for an aspiring chef.

While we are happy to train, basic duties and preferences include:

  • Basic food/allergy health training & awareness.
  • A decent grasp or experience in preparing easy, small-plate European cuisine.
  • Inventory maintenance and ordering.
  • Willingness to adapt, learn, move fast, and take direction easily.

Our food recipes center around high-quality prepped dishes like steak tartare, bone marrow, pâté, meatballs, hummus, and seafood platters (including shucking oysters), with light sauté and less emphasis on food temperatures and grilling. The position also requires help on the floor, if possible, when not busy, as we all help each other. Monthly Salary is negotiable based on experience, compatibility and dedication to the work.

Skills

Basics in food handling European cuisine inventory management and ability to communicate in English and Portuguese.

Diplomas

Needs to have worked in the kitchen for at least 2-3 years, with a European/ style cuisine
