Electricity in Leon

Nicabound

I plan to build a beach front home near Leon in the very near future.  I am wondering how reliable the electrical service is in that area.  Additionally, are the electrical usage rates comparable to that of the U.S.?  Thanks in advance for anyone who can help me with this information.  Tom

Not sure about reliability--I have 100% reliable electricity because I am off-grid. But, see qa.a-zliving.com/questions/20/what-is-the-cost-of-electricity-in-nicaragua for electric rates.

Electricity is not very reliable, especially during holidays, of which there are many in Nica.

Do a search on the Nicaliving website for electrical rates.

At the beach you really just need shade, an open patio, and a fan would help.

Electricity does go off occasionally for maintenance, but it is never for longer than an hour or so. Overall I think the rates are some of the cheapest in Central America
