I'd love your advice...

Hello,

I'm a freelance illustrator who works wherever there is wi-fi :-)

Thinking of getting a newer laptop...the one I have is getting quite heavy to load around!

I'm new to having my own design business, being location independent is great. It's why I'm in Chiang Mai until the end of September.

I'd love to meet some ex-pats and other business owners and freelancers.

I'm very curious on how it is to live in Chaing Mai for long periods of time. I've visited before but not for very long.

Is there any art classes, artist communities, great resources + places to visit you recommend? I might come back to stay longer next year - I love it here so far!

Let's meet up, I'd love your advice :-)

(I can speak very basic Thai to survive...how to order food, where is the bathroom, "can you make the price lower?")

One thing Thailand has taught me is to love bargaining, even if I don't get much of a discount! ;-)

Hello,

I am from California, my Mom is Thai. I really like Chiang Mai, there's a lot of students here.

I've never been to Malaysia. I really want to go visit India.

Hey,
I just arrived in Chiang Mai a week ago, But I was stationed in Thailand for 28 months back during the Vietnam erea. Have Drawing/Painting & Sculpture. A few days ago while roaming in the night bazar I discovered a "plaza" (multi storied mall) the bottom floor was populated with ARTISTS. Most doing reproductions of pictures for clients.. ie drawings from pictures but most also had there own work on display. I was impressed. anyhow the bazar was about 1 mile east of old city walls. Hope that helps ya some.....
Good Luck...
