Keeping a US drivers license while abroad

billcramer2010

Has anyone had experience keeping their US drivers license using a virtual mailbox?  My DL expired and am considering opening a virtual mailbox to keep an address stateside.  I'm not sure if I can renew my DL using a virtual mailbox, but I think that I am out of other options.

I would suggest that you establish a home state mail address before you leave.  It may be a worthwhile expense. And I have a similar question.  Has anyone had their eye test done while overseas for your stateside license?

I renewed my US drivers license from overseas last year. My State allows for an eye test to be done remotely and if passed they send it in directly to the DMV so you can do the whole renewal online. Of course they will only mail your renewed D/L to your US address though. Don't know which state your D/L is from but probably worth checking if there is such a service that you can use.

Hello,

I am a Truck driver from America. I have been wanting to move abroad for a while now. What is it like for Truck drivers in Japan?
