It depends on what you rent, the apartments that were bought as investments by offshore investors have got good quality modern furniture
If you rent from locals it is reasonable priced but then you use there style furniture
You can rent reasonable apartments for Rs 30000 to Rs 50000 in Tamarin/ La Preneuse and Flic and Flac is normally 20% cheaper

Most rentals are furnished but you can negotiate with the owner. Bringing furniture or not really depends on how long you鈥檙e planning on staying here. So if you鈥檙e going to stay 3+ years then I think it鈥檚 better to bring your own household contents聽 and it certainly will go a long way to making it easier to settle here. Although the houses are furnished (and that鈥檚 a relative term) there will always be some things that isn鈥檛 supplied- think of kitchen appliances and gadgets. Also personal ornaments and sentimental items.

Yes the homes are furnished. Depending on where you live the furnishings are comfortable and very chic. Also everything thing you need is provided.

I found myself shipping couches, tables and linen, all of witch are now surplus to my needs.

We found that in the 30000 to 50000 the furnishings were really poor quality and certainly not the standard of what we were used to in SA. Obviously if you鈥檙e in the 70000 plus bracket then the furnishings are better.

I have a fully furnished, 3-bedroom apartment available in Grand Baie with secured parking on CCTV and a common swimming pool.聽 Access control to the estate is through mobile phone.

The apartment is a 5-minute drive to Grand Baie La Croisette shopping mall, Super U hypermarket and public beaches.

Definitely bring bedding - but bear in mind that bed sizes often differ here. So you need to know actual measurements before you pack.

Sorry, I meant to say that it is available for rent should you still be looking for a long term accommodation.

Not sure who this question was directed to but we brought our entire household. With hindsight we should have done more of a de-clutter. Things I would definitely bring are lounge suit, dining room suite, bedroom suite, all kitchen appliances big and small, crockery, cutlery and linen, ornaments, art etc. Don鈥檛 bring blankets, heaters etc.
